Maximillian Sigayev leads a double life: He is the governor of California, and he leads the shifter underground. In a world were shifters are being hunted and threatened by extinction it is a dangerous game.
Audrey Westen has been working as Governor Sigayev assistant for over eighteen months. She has secretly been in love with him but knows they can in no way be together because of her low level of shifter blood. A full human would never want to be with her.
Max and Audrey are both attracted to each other but fight their feeling due to a number of misconceptions. Now it appears that Max’s cover has been blown, and the two will have to learn to trust each other and their wolves.
Wolf Born is an interesting twist in shape shifter novels. It is an enjoyable read, with likable characters. I enjoyed the futuristic spin: making this series stand out among shape shifter novels.
Ann Gimpel created a fascinating world in the Underground Heat Series. I hope we will see additional books in the series.
