Ryan Douglas and Chloe Jacobs met at the local grocery store and share a life-threatening experience. Chloe has sworn off men; however, Ryan throws down the gloves in a fight to pursue her.
Once Upon a Power Play is an exciting and fast-paced victory for Jennifer Bonds.
Ryan is a great hero. He is recovering from a potential career-ending injury, and his girlfriend of six years dumped him. Needless to say, his confidence has taken a hit. He is tenacious, charming, and a fighter. He is a good leader and person. I like that he appreciated being normal.
Chloe has had her share of failed relationships, thus the reason for swearing off men - good thing Ryan is persistent. She is stubborn, sarcastic, feisty, and encouraging. She also gives good advice (read Ryan’s first practice back after his injury).
I enjoyed the plot, Once Upon a Power Play is an endearing story that is believable. I like how their lives intertwined. I love how Ryan and Chloe met. I adored the epilogue. It is a great story for anyone who enjoys contemporary sports romances.
