Alpha, Lucas Sparks, is broken after the death of his mate. The last thing he wants is the responsibility to protect a human girl he rescued from a rival pack. To make matters worse it turns out, she is the new intern at his family’s company.
Mia Fiore has hidden her identity as a shifter. She has never even met another wolf, trying to suppress her true nature. While attend college, she accepts an internship that will change her life.
Lucas is all alpha. He went rogue after the death of his mate, no longer in command of his pack. He wants nothing to do with she-wolves. He definitely has issues we have yet to discover. My heart went out to him, and I want to see him happy.
Mia is sweet. I love that she is clothing challenged, and her roommate helps her to dress. She has kept her identity as a wolf from everyone; not having a wolf support system growing up. I look forward to discovering how she is going to handle working with a bunch of wolves.
Lucas and Mia have an undeniable attraction for one another. Both are keeping secrets. I cannot wait to see how their relationship progresses.
I read a lot of shifter novels. This one felt refreshing. I really enjoyed it. This short story was a quick read, one that I didn’t want to end. The conclusion left me anxious to read the next book, Guarded.
